The great Italian virtuoso Nicolo Paganini said "The violin is my mistress but the guitar is my master." Also a talented guitarist, Paganini wrote many duets for the two instruments. These duets are an important part of the Canzonetta Duo repertoire, violinist Vladimir Petrov and guitarist Gregory Nisnevich. Vladimir and Gregory's repertoire also includes works by G.F. Handel, works by Sarasate and Gragnani from the Classical period, and contemporary works by Jan Freidlin and Elke Tober-Vogt. The musicians also have a program that is a tribute to the Russian composers.
